    Türkiye

A country-wide deep dive into the waste heat potential for all of Türkiye

assessment for waste heat potential in three major heat use sectors—industry, commercial and service buildings, and thermal power plants. The goal? To understand the country’s waste heat energy use potential, one of the key energy efficiency considerations in Türkiye.

Working closely with the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENR), the team set out to identify technically and financially viable waste heat recovery investments including cogeneration and renewable energy-based heat use in sectors throughout the country.

The resulting report brings together essential information around waste heat recovery including evaluations of existing policies, explorations of regulatory and financial barriers (with regards to heat utilization to achieve greater energy efficiency), and provisions of recommendations on further actions.

With this report, MENR and the Türkiye government have a clearer idea of how to access this untapped resource.
