Civic Heart

Located on a triangular island site in South Perth, Civic Heart is a mixed-use residential development that combines heritage-listed architecture with modern amenities. It offers ground-level hospitality and commercial tenancies as well as pedestrian amenities for residents and locals.

Finbar appointed our team to review and sign off on the traffic management approach prior to submitting to the City of South Perth, Main Roads, and Western Australian Planning Commission. We worked closely with the City of South Perth to adopt a traffic model and used the output to understand traffic flows around the site. Our team was also engaged to provide design input relating to the pedestrian amenity around Mends Street and develop an access management plan to improve southbound vehicle flow along Labouchere Road. We worked closely with the project architect to review the internal carpark layout and loading bay requirements for delivery vehicles.

Due to our previous work with the City of South Perth, we had a strong understanding of the context, road network, and traffic modeling. This allowed us to manage transportation constraints and suggest appropriate mechanisms to create a seamless experience for all modes traveling to and from the development.
