Two Melbourne Quarter

Two Melbourne Quarter is the next stage of the Melbourne Quarter development on Collins Street in Docklands. One of seven commercial and residential buildings planned to support growth and demand in the central business district, the project consists of a 24-level commercial office tower, community facilities, and retail space.

Designed with both sustainability and livability at heart, the development has a focus on energy, water, and indoor environment quality, aspiring to achieve 6 Star Green Star Sustainability and 5 Star NABERS Energy Base Building ratings. We were tasked with supporting these sustainability targets as the mechanical engineers on the project. When designing the mechanical system, we incorporated innovative features such as the use of heat exchangers to reclaim heating and cooling, a selection of the latest in chill water plant technology, and optimising the use of fan and pump energy.

We managed to exceed sustainability targets—giving the building a positive image and reducing energy demands. This development now supports population growth and the growing need for new businesses and facilities for the burgeoning community.
