Kings County Courts Relocation

The New York Department of Citywide Administrative Services is managing an overall project to relocate multiple city agencies within three existing buildings: 141 Livingston Ave, 210 Joralemon Street, and 345 Adams Street. At 210 Joralemon Street, also known as The Brooklyn Municipal Building, we’re contributing by designing renovations that will accommodate the New York City Courts for Kings County.

The project scope includes renovating the entrance lobby interior, replacing exterior doors, partial interior renovation of the third floor, and full renovation of floors 5 through 13. We’re also upgrading the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services as well as portions of the structural infrastructure. Finally, we’re also contributing compliance services in line with municipal sustainability standards. The goal? To seek—at minimum—a USGBC LEED Silver Certification.

Built in 1924 and set within a landmark district between Court Street and Boerum Place in Brooklyn, NY, the upgraded 210 Joralemon Street building will support civil and housing courtrooms as well as all necessary administrative support.
