Iron Horse Transit Operations Facility

When Ironhorse Transit in Park City wanted to remodel and expand their operations facility office and maintenance spaces, they needed a clever solution that would work. Additional space and land weren’t available for the expansion, so we came up with a creative solution.

Rising to the challenge of restricted space on the site, our design team developed a creative multi-story solution to solve the space restrictions—a three-level addition with a two-story parking structure that has storage for 38 buses, a drive-through bus wash on the lower level, bridge crane, fuel pumps, and employee parking for 86 vehicles on the top level. Four additional maintenance bays were added to the existing maintenance facility, the administration space was reconfigured, and storage areas were expanded.

This creative solution provided the client with a unique operations facility that fits the community and meets their expansion requirements in a limited space
