Alexandria Waterfront Flood Mitigation Implementation

The City of Alexandria is engaged in a multi-year capital program to reinvent their historic Old Town Waterfront as a world-class destination. After a qualification-based selection process, we were brought in to handle professional architectural and engineering services for the flood mitigation implementation, infrastructure, and open-space improvements.

Our project management and coordination will include field and environmental assessments, master stormwater planning, and water quality impact analysis. We’ll complete master utility planning, civil, marine, and structural engineering, and architectural design as well as landscape architecture and permitting. The City of Alexandria has also asked us to complete civic engagement and public relations.

This project will invest $60 million into new public spaces and infrastructure that will retain the Old Town Waterfront’s rich heritage while creating new opportunities for the community.
