New South Wales Transport Accessibility Station Upgrades

The Transport Access Program is a New South Wales Government initiative delivering safe, modern, and accessible public transport infrastructure. Varying patronage and heritage constraints on some early 20th century structures meant our project team had to perform a unique assessment—site investigations, pedestrian and traffic analysis, and contamination evaluation.

As the lead design consultant, we delivered option assessments and scoping designs for nine station upgrades in the Sydney trains and inter-city networks, including design options to install lifts to existing footbridges. The team demonstrated their capability in building information modelling, using point cloud information to create 3D models, assisting stakeholder consultation. We delivered our work following the Systems Engineering requirements—high-quality, on time, and within budget.

Collectively, our work has informed the next stage of detailed design and construction to improve accessibility for those with a disability, limited mobility, or parents with pushchairs, helping customers comfortably use public transport services and bolstering our client’s ability to meet customer needs.
