Canterbury Bankstown Integrated Access and Movement Study

Planning transport solutions for future growth

We’re investigating future transport needs and creating frameworks to provide more integrated transport connections

The City of Canterbury-Bankstown is projected to experience significant population growth in the coming decade. To respond to this, Canterbury Bankstown City Council appointed our team to prepare an Integrated Access and Movement Study.

Our strategy sought to examine the impacts of projected population increase on the transport network and provide strategies and actions to achieve a more integrated network focused on sustainable and active travel. The study covered all modes of transport and considered future trends to develop a series of strategic objectives the Council can implement within a 20-year timeframe. Most importantly, it aligns with other local strategies and New South Wales (NSW) Government action plans. Having previously delivered the Bankstown Complete Streets strategy, our team was familiar with the context as well as existing constraints, opportunities, and directions for future transport initiatives.

Despite a limited timeframe, we met the Council’s deadlines and provided a wide set of future actions across public transport, active travel, and vehicle use to guide the Council’s long-term transport plans and support their growing community’s travel needs.
