Challenge: External noise and vibration interference to performing arts facility

ECU’s performing arts facilities had to be built over railways, tunnels, and busport which caused vibrations and noise—all obstacles to meeting the acoustic requirements of the studios, theatres and recital halls. Our solution: To tackle the noise impacts we designed box-in-box structures—essentially rooms suspended within rooms—with resilient springs built in. The layered design with gaps in between help with insulation, and the springs absorb vibrations, minimising the impact of external noise. Read More 

Challenge: Natural ventilation without the noise

Our solution: We've crafted a design approach that merges acoustic and ventilation planning, enabling passive natural airflow in Sydney's CBD high-rise homes. Our façades feature passive ventilation systems, letting fresh air into living areas and bedrooms while blocking urban noise, thanks to our specially designed, power-free attenuators. These allow residents to regulate airflow. Our innovative ventilation method has been adopted in over 10 residential projects, bringing suburban-quality air to city dwellers. Read More 
