Metro Parkway

When communities grow, their infrastructure must grow with them. According to the US Census, Lee County was the ninth fastest growing county in the country in 2021. A growing population means more traffic, requiring bigger roads and smarter design. A major north-south arterial, the Metro Parkway needed an upgrade. The Florida Department of Transportation selected our team to provide roadway and utility design to widen and reconstruct this 2.7-mile-long corridor.

To deliver a safe and successful project, we coordinated with the adjacent community, emergency services personnel, and the general public throughout design and construction process. We conducted a detailed review of the Project Development and Environment study performed for this project, which included new public workshops to analyze the parkway’s new alignment. For the bridge construction, we provided unique techniques that presented alternative methods and a cost analysis for each option.

When completed, the roadway will expand from a four- to a six-lane divided roadway, with two-way continuous flow intersections, increasing the volume of vehicles allowed to safely navigate this roadway.
