The local environment inspired this sense-of-place design

San Antonio, a city rich in culture and history, finds its true spirit in its multiple layers. Its origins are deeply rooted in the river which has lured patrons to its “refreshing waters,” as it was once named. Those waters provide relief from the daily routine, inviting people to gather on its banks to meet, dine, or cool off.

The renovation of the Marriott San Antonio captured that essence by providing respite for guests from their busy day. Materials including warm wood and native stone complement cool color tones and create a casual modern environment for work or relaxation. This complex atrium renovation establishes a sense of arrival with a central lobby bar that transitions from coffee service during the day to an activated destination at night. When gathering, guests can find rustic wood structures that provide intimate spaces within the relocated restaurant.

In addition, a newly created M-Club—perched above on the mezzanine—offers an upscale amenity for guests to unwind. When guests feel the need to escape, they can make use of the carefully appointed guestrooms with warm millwork and comfortable lounge seating.

An oasis of relaxation, the newly renovated Marriott San Antonio delivers a relaxing, rejuvenating experience to its guests.
