Lepomis Solar Project

With an ambitious goal—1,600 megawatts of solar capacity by 2020—the State of Massachusetts needed to start harnessing solar power as soon as possible. Working with EDF Renewable Energy, this would be the first major renewable energy project in the area—we stepped in to help.

The development, named the Lepomis Solar Project, is a power site that provides energy to the surrounding community as part of the state’s initiative to provide renewable energy through solar installations. The ground-mounted, fixed-tilt solar photovoltaic (PV) project is comprised of 20,000 Trina Solar modules distributed over 38 acres. For this project, we monitored installation for compliance with the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plan and compliance with our client’s permitted engineering design plans.

On track to achieve their goal, Massachusetts is setting the standard for sourcing economically and environmentally-friendly power in the states.
