LRHMC - Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion Parking Garage
The parking garage, often overlooked as an important aspect of patient experience, is the first facility most people experience after arriving at the Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center (LRHMC). The existing parking facilities consisted of one large parking garage and surface lots for both patients and staff. In 2014, the LRHMC asked our team to plan a second brand-new parking facility adjacent to its new Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children that would align with the rest of the ongoing master facilities plan needs.
Our team worked closely alongside hospital administration to redesign their project management processes—we even helped by advising on the selection of an architect to participate in the creation of a comprehensive master facility plan for the health system. Our team tailored the design to help manage the growing need for parking at the Medical Center Campus. Now, a new five-level, precast concrete parking structure offers approximately 800 parking spaces.
We also assisted Lakeland Regional Health in the development of a comprehensive, multi-phased parking plan that included all eight parking areas on campus. The result? Patients and staff can now park with ease, providing access to a new facility that will transform healthcare for the women and children of the communities served by the LRHMC.
