Goose Creek (BlueWildlife) Stream and Wetland Restoration

Regular folks can make a difference every day in their communities and in the health of the surrounding environment. In an effort to restore streams and wetlands (ultimately improving the health of the Chesapeake Bay), the landowner donated an easement to The Nature Conservancy (TNC) as part of a multi-million dollar restoration project located in Fauquier County, Virginia. The project was funded by the Virginia Aquatic Resources Trust Fund, which is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the TNC. The Liberson family’s donation and public outreach played a significant role in achieving the project’s desired goal.

With offices along tributaries to the Chesapeake Bay, we too take the health of the Bay to heart. Selected by the TNC to assist in this restoration effort, we provided the feasibility, planning, design, construction, and monitoring of the project. Our staff of experienced stream restoration experts, engineers and ecologists, helped make this a successful restoration project not only for streams and wetlands, but for the wildlife as well by establishing niche compartments where target species were provided with appropriate habitat.
