BPX Energy

When BPX Energy was looking for a new headquarters close to their growing onshore gas and oil business in the Rocky Mountains, Denver was an easy choice. The new, 138,000-square foot (12,800-square-metre) office space, designed by our buildings group in Denver, incorporates the latest in workplace design with a focus on creating an inclusive, warm and welcoming office.

BPX Energy’s headquarters occupies three floors in the new Riverview building, developed by Trammell Crow Company. Our team provided interior, sustainable and lighting design services on the project. In addition to 240 offices, the project includes features like floor-to-ceiling windows providing views of the Platte River and the downtown skyline. It features a large cafeteria space with a 52-foot (4.8-metre) live edge wood picnic table, and a community room next to the river—complete with a media wall and full bar. Adjacent to the coffee area, a space dubbed “The Nest” features a net that spans the length of the room ending in a live green wall. Large swings hanging from above offer employees a truly unique indoor/outdoor breakroom experience. Another feature of the building is a three-story “X” shaped staircase meant to mimic the drilling rigs in the oil and gas industry.

With comfortable, inclusive, thoughtfully designed spaces, BPX truly feels like an extension of home for its employees.
