Selkirk Acute Care Hospital

According to the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Association (IERHA), “the new Selkirk Regional Health Centre (SAHC) has been designed to better accommodate the needs of residents in Interlake-Eastern RHA who require hospitalization or more specialized acute care and out- patient services.”

In collaboration with LM Architectural Group, our integrated team of designers provided full architectural services for the 61-bed acute care facility. The scope? Specialized medical planning for surgery, post-anesthesia care unit, day surgery, cancer care, and rehabilitation. The facility also house outpatient services, health information, and support and laboratory services.

SAHC offers a full range of medical and allied health services, such as surgery department comprised of three operating rooms and two endoscopy rooms, plus related scope cleaning and support spaces. Other facilities include: obstetrics, medicine, emergency, emergency medical services, diagnostics, and a palliative care program.

Completed in the summer of 2017, SAHC is LEED Certified Gold and consists of a new two-story building with a steel frame structure that was constructed over a service crawlspace.
