Rogers Foods Ltd. – Flour Mill and Production Facility

Rogers Foods produces wholesome cereals and quality flour using Canadian grain. With mills located in Armstrong and Chilliwack, British Columbia, the facility is ideally located—it can obtain grain from both British Columbia and Alberta farmers, as well as serve these two major market areas.

However, the aging facility, limited technology, and flattened capacity forced the client to consider building a new facility. The goal was to produce a variety of branded and private label flour and cereal products for the grocery/retail, bakery/food, export, and feed markets. Cue Stantec.

Savvy in functional programming, our plan increased production capacity in phases. The new five-story mill includes a maintenance shop, storage warehouse, mill processing area, flour bin storage, railcar/truck unloading area, grain silos, and office space.

Our food process specialists and engineers developed the design-build performance documents and designed the concept, preliminary engineering, and site and program requirements.

In one day this facility will produce more than 250 tonnes of flour—enough flour to bake 2,000 batches of a dozen chocolate chip cookies.
