Lévis Marine Terminal
As a major access point for Quebec’s capital city region, the Quebec City‒Lévis crossing sees more than 25,000 passages annually, transporting nearly 350,000 vehicles and over 1.5 million passengers. Quebec's Public Infrastructure Project Management Department (SQI) wanted to build a new marine terminal at Lévis, in order to properly accommodate the growing number of passengers using this crossing.
In addition to designing a complete redevelopment plan for the site, which includes a 150 spot park-and-ride facility, new access to ferries, and bus terminal with five loading docks, Stantec’s engineering team drafted the plans and specifications for Lévis’s new marine terminal.
The imposing steel and timber LEED-certified building evokes the rich naval and industrial past of this site. Offering an exceptional panoramic view of the St. Lawrence River and Quebec City, the terminal will now be able to welcome 450 passengers in its 800 square meter interior.
Construction of the new terminal—along with improvements made to the Quebec-Lévis crossing site—are part of a large-scale project to revitalize the area.
