Geotechnical Investigations for Nova Scotia

Stantec has been providing geotechnical engineering and Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) testing services to the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure for over a decade. Through our long-term relationship, we’ve had opportunity to perform investigations for new and replacement bridge structures, provincially-owned buildings, and slope failures—everywhere from Yarmouth to Sydney. Our main office and laboratory in Dartmouth along with two other permanent offices and laboratories in Sydney and Antigonish provide efficient geographic coverage across the province.

Our employees supervise investigations, perform laboratory routine and advanced testing, and provide geotechnical reports with recommendations for the proposed developments or remedial work. We also perform PDA testing on cast in place concrete and driven steel, concrete, and timber piles during construction to verify the geotechnical capacity.
