New Beith Road, Stage 3

Logan is a diverse, developing city—ultimately, it’s a growing city. And growth brings with it many changes, especially when it comes to increased traffic volumes. To remedy this and improve connectivity, Logan City Council planned major road upgrades at New Beith Road.

We were engaged to complete the detailed design of New Beith Road Stage 3, between Pub Lane and Argyle Street, a total of 1.7 kilometres of road. Our design proposed raising New Beith Road and the roundabout at the intersection of Spring Mountain Drive and Pub Lane. This would achieve one percent annual exceedance probability (AEP) immunity—meaning a 1 in 100 chance of a flood event occurring, or being exceeded, in any year.

The project also included the extension of Raglan Road through unformed road reserve between Muston Court and Roberts Road and the preparation of a creek stabilisation plan to return the nearby creek to a natural state. Our team provided hydraulic design and modelling, lighting and electrical design, roadworks and ancillary works, and public utility plant (PUP) relocation design. We also provided environmental and cultural heritage impact studies, and detailed structural engineering of 80 metre and 50 metre drainage structures.

These improvements make it possible for Logan’s road network to accommodate rising traffic demand into the future.
