Growing up, Evan helped with irrigation installation which led to his interest in water practices and becoming a civil engineer. Now part of our Queensland Dams team, he has been involved with multiple large-scale concept improvements for dams, dam safety reviews, and many site investigations. He has worked across several disciplines, but especially geotechnical and hydrological projects.
Evan’s recent work includes the Burdekin Falls Dams improvement project in Queensland. Numerous site visits involved geological mapping, assisting with boreholes, and collecting core samples for testing—as well as working on the planning side. Recently, he completed a five-month assignment with the Springbank Dam construction project in Calgary, Canada, where he gained an understanding of the construction industry and the reality of building dam hydraulic structures and geotechnical embankments.
When he’s not working on large dam projects, Evan enjoys running, soccer, and hanging out with friends. On weekends, he likes getting out of the city to go hiking, camping, and swimming.
