Peter Brennand

Project Procurement Lead

Photo of Peter

Working in project procurement is a challenge that Peter finds incredibly rewarding. Not only does he provide commercial evaluation, but he also considers quality, safety, suppliers’ track records, and other cost aspects of a project’s life cycle—from durability and maintenance to the cost of spare parts, among others.

With new elements related to procurement arising more frequently and changing rapidly, Peter believes it’s crucial to be knowledgeable of new developments as they emerge. For example, it’s important to examine the overall supply chain for indications of unlawful activities—human rights violations such as modern slavery, as well as anti-money laundering and anti-bribery and corruption.

Currently, Peter’s leading procurement for a gold project on New Zealand’s South Island. His role involves obtaining competitive pricing from equipment suppliers and carrying out evaluations and negotiations.

When he’s not working as a project procurement lead, Peter enjoys distance running, pickleball, and watching as much sport as he can on TV!
