A headquarters to reflect a strong image and attract clients and talented attorneys

The design of Shipman & Goodwin’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., needed to make a statement. As a new firm in the D.C. market, they had to reflect a strong image that would attract clients and talented attorneys to their team—and we would help them do it.

Founded in 1919 and based out of Hartford, Connecticut, Shipman & Goodwin has more than 150 lawyers in five offices nationwide. Their new D.C. office would have to house up to 25 attorneys plus administrative staff. Our approach? Transform 15,000 square feet of office space while cultivating a proud and profitable home.

The modernized office now reflects an open, forward-thinking mentality. Wrapped in white marble and glass, this revolutionized workspace contrasts color and light to establish a tasteful, highly competent atmosphere. We achieved sustainability at a very reasonable cost, and the design includes a conference hall, pantry, and war room to provide the desired amenities.
