Known for her enthusiastic demeanor, Julia loves what she does—she won’t hesitate to tell you this is her dream job. She’s a geoscientist specializing in geohazards, with a background in slope hazard assessments, river hydrology and sedimentation, geomorphology, dendrogeomorphology, soil properties, and geographic information systems (GIS).
As part of our Geohazards and Geomorphology team, Julia applies her knowledge of slopes and rivers to pipeline geohazards programs and other linear infrastructure. She’s worked with TAQA North Ltd., Husky Energy, Repsol, Inter Pipeline (IPL), NuVista Energy Ltd., Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc. (TNPI), Sun-Canadian Pipe Line, and Pembina Pipeline. Additionally, she’s completed work with Alberta cities—Calgary, Edmonton, and St. Albert—as well as multiple projects in Texas and California. To her, the best part of a project is working with colleagues on active landslide sites to determine if on-site pipelines or other linear infrastructure are being impacted.
In her spare time, Julia enjoys reading a good book, going ballroom dancing with her husband, and getting baby smiles and laughs from her young son.
