Alan is a technical leader within Stantec’s geotechnical engineering practice. He takes on complex problems requiring advanced analysis, design, quality control, and project execution. His areas of technical expertise include soil strength, slope stability, seepage, liquefaction, and seismic performance for dams and other earth structures.
A former university professor, Alan enjoys working with engineering teams to solve difficult, real-world problems for clients. In 2012, he was named a national Top 25 Newsmaker by ENR magazine for his lead role in designing seismic containment for the re-built coal ash landfill at TVA’s Kingston Plant.
