Artificial organs. Prosthetics. Chemical reactions. Fascinated by such things, Mike became a chemical engineer. That education and his experience are the foundation for the role he plays in solving real-life problems that enhance our quality of life.

As a project manager for design facilities and processes that create usable products from municipal solid waste and recyclable materials, Mike is motivated by the challenges of the constantly changing materials recovery field. On the other hand, he’s also very interested in the rapidly-changing pharmaceutical industry. The results? Removing materials from landfills and manufacturing life-saving drugs.

When it comes to these projects, targeting specific diseases and manufacturing customized drugs needs specialized, continually changing processes. Creating beneficial products from waste, like solid fuel and roofing board, requires designing and using diverse processes and equipment, with an eye on possible new products all the time. Mike feels privileged to play a role in saving both lives and the environment.
