Jess is an environmental scientist with wet boots; her career to date has been deeply grounded in the field, studying all kinds of ecosystems from Auckland's urban streams to the twisting basins of Australia's outback, and peaty Scottish 'burns' (streams).
With over 10 years’ experience in consulting, public policy and research both in New Zealand and internationally, Jess strives to deliver innovative outcomes that benefit her clients, their local community and the broader environment. In her eyes the more complex a project, the better.
To achieve this, she draws on her strong background in environmental science and resource management policy along with her technical capabilities in water quality studies, environmental impact assessments, and implementing integrated catchment management approaches.
Away from work Jess harbors ambitions to become a jazz trumpeter and plays in a local amateur brass band. And when she isn’t playing music, she’s watching it: live gigs, orchestral performances, street buskers … you name it, Jess is there.
