    Glasgow, United Kingdom

We were commissioned by the University of Strathclyde to refurbish this Grade A listed building

The University of Strathclyde wants to preserve the University’s heritage, whilst enhancing the user experience through investment in the iconic Royal College building. Our contribution? Designing and managing the refurbishment masterplan.

The plan is being delivered in five phases. Phases 1 and 2b have been successfully delivered with others following over the next few years, including the last portion of 2a. In addition to this, we’re also carrying out additional work to refurbish the south laboratory in the Royal College building.

A main aim of the masterplan is to improve accessibility, safety, and wayfinding in and around the building. Our services include civil and structural engineering as well as internal refurbishment to form a high standard of office and teaching spaces.

When complete, the masterplan will deliver new, state-of-the-art lab and office spaces, providing an enhanced learning and working environment for Strathclyde students and staff while also paying respect to the original building aesthetics.
