Delivering High Speed Rail Phase 2B

The £56 billion Highspeed Rail 2 (HS2) project aims to bridge the ‘north-south divide’, connecting around 30 million people—construction work is due to commence in 2033. It will free up space on existing lines, provide new local train services to passengers and freight, and ease congestion and over-crowding.

Our team is partnering with Bechtel in their role as delivery partner for the HS2 Phase 2B Hybrid Bill, under an 8-year contract. Our job? Supporting the management of a team of over 100 professional staff, located at HS2’s Snow Hill office in Birmingham. We are providing technical assurance, programme management, and delivery of Hybrid Bill outputs for Phase 2B of the route, which will connect Birmingham to Manchester and Leeds. This requires the oversight, assurance and programme management of over 1000 design consultants working in a collaborative Hub. Our senior managers are providing transport planning, environmental, utilities, property, and stakeholder engagement services.

Once completed, the HS2 route will be over 330 miles long, connecting eight of Britain’s ten largest cities: Birmingham, London, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
