Boulton Moor Sustainable Urban Extension

Beginning in the early 2000s, landowners JSC Farming Limited and Central Land Holdings engaged our team to provide multiple professional services for the creation of the Boulton Moor Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) located on the edge of Derby. We have successfully secured the allocation of this SUE within South Derbyshire’s Local Plan along with outline planning permissions for multiple phases.

An interdisciplinary project, many of our teams have been involved in helping to plan the Boulton Moor SUE. These include our town planning, masterplanning, architecture, environmental planning, landscape planning, community engagement, and heritage teams.

At the heart of the SUE is a new district centre that will provide retail, commercial and community uses. Adjacent to the proposed district centre, a mobility hub will offer sustainable options to reduce reliance on cars and encourage the use of public transport and active travel.

Once complete, the Boulton Moor SUE will create a vibrant, inclusive, and balanced community through its wide variety of approximately 2,760 homes and sustainable living.
