Labtests Laboratory, Sylvia Park, Auckland

When our client, Labtests, required help fast-tracking their new health service laboratory fit-out, they called upon our expertise in specialised building systems. The challenges included incorporating complex multidisciplinary services while installing a full air-conditioned laboratory that requires robust supply and exhaust systems, maintaining laboratory gases, providing compressed air and water services.

We provided complete building services and engineering design for the facility's redevelopment including a backup power generator, individual close-control computer rooms, specialist cold and freezer rooms, and a fully integrated building management system to control and monitor all services across the site. The designed systems help achieve close environmental control with air handling systems for extracting fumes from specific laboratories, as well as system redundancy to safeguard the facility's electrical supply.

By working collaboratively with all stakeholders, we delivered a fast-track project on time, to exacting standards, and which most importantly, protects the people within and the community around the laboratory facility.
