Marin Catholic High School – St. Anselm’s Hall Renovation

What do you do with an old convent building? Repurpose it for academic use. That’s exactly what we did for Marin Catholic High School—we renovated St. Anselm’s Hall giving it a fresh, contemporary look. St. Anselm’s Hall was constructed in 1949 as the chapel and convent building. Over the years since, it’s undergone several renovations.

We rehabilitated an older space from the 1940s, by designing a new space with offices, classrooms, and modern electrical amenities. The fully renovated two-story building is connected to the chapel building with a covered walkway. Bright classrooms, meeting rooms, conference rooms, a faculty break room, and administrative offices, make up the interior spaces that also include a president’s library and lounge and spacious hallways where students can meet and mingle. A cool palette of blue and gray is offset by warm wood accents. Beautiful classic oak doors are featured in the hall entries.

High-school students and faculty alike can enjoy the contemporary style of this renovated convent that’s been given new life.

Services for this project were completed by the employees of GL Planning & Design prior to their employment at Stantec.
