Deer Creek Addition

The Deer Creek addition, planned for Fargo’s growing southwest side, meant 362 new homes—and with those new homes came the need for safe roadways and reliable utilities. The City of Fargo selected us to complete final design, bidding, and construction administration for the street construction and underground utilities.

To keep this large endeavor manageable, the project was divided into four plan-sets and projects (three underground utility projects and one street construction project). To keep it on track, our team worked closely with Fargo Engineering: from kickoff meetings and bi-weekly construction meetings through project closeout and record plan documentation.

Design began in 2013, with construction from early 2014 to late 2015. The combined projects (with a construction cost of over $11 million) delivered over six miles of curb and gutter, plus sanitary sewer from 6 to 15 inches in diameter, water main and storm sewer mainline, and residential services. The design included preliminary utility layouts and road profiles for the future adjacent phases of the project, providing confidence that Deer Creek’s full build-out would be served by a seamless infrastructure.
