South West Exeter

A strategic development site within the Teignbridge District Council Local Plan 2013 to 2033, South West Exeter is set to deliver local housing targets for the region. We were brought in by Bovis Homes Ltd to support Reserved Matters Applications (RMA) and the detailed infrastructure design for the development.

The Bovis Homes element includes an outline planning consent for education facilities (a primary school and a secondary school), sport recreation, land for community buildings, open space, suitable alternative natural green spaces (SANGS), and 1,350 dwellings.

We’ve provided engineering knowledge and skills to take the project from outline planning consent through RMA submissions and technical approval to construction. We’ve worked collaboratively with the client, masterplanning architects, planners, ecologists, and other designers as well as liaised with statutory authorities to provide holistic solutions throughout. Our infrastructure designs included highways, drainage, earthworks, and utilities within the challenging site.

By 2033, the Teignbridge District Council hopes these changes will create a prosperous economy that increases inward investment, provides much-needed homes for the area, and promotes community wellbeing with green infrastructure and active travel modes.
