Improving the FAI's water efficiency and saving performance by 2030
As a technical consultant, we assessed the water consumption of 44 FAI properties and proposed improvement activities to achieve a target for reducing annual water consumption.
Here are the phases of the project: collection and analysis of available data; identification of priority assets in terms of water saving, volumes and consumption, collection of water saving objectives already identified; identification of a set of typical actions to be implemented on the assets; evaluation of possible water savings following the implementation of actions on individual properties; identification of non-structural and structural actions with the aim of reducing the use of drinking water; development of an action plan and priorities.
After this study, we carried out three water audits at the selected FAI properties in order to verify the applicability of the actions identified by Stantec in the previous study, to reduce water consumption by 2030. To start the audits, we carried out inspections at the sites, with particular attention to the management of water resources, supplies and distribution networks. Through interviews with technical staff, we were able to collect further information on the management of water resources and identify possible ideas for improvement, so as to verify and integrate the identified water consumption reduction actions.
Thanks to the audits, we have identified new possible strategies that will allow the FAI to add elements in order to improve its water efficiency and saving performance by 2030.
