Designing a campus that can be built on

The new campus for the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) in Drummondville was built on a vast piece of wooded land and includes an initial 75,000-square-foot building with a footprint of 21,500 square feet.

As the first phase for developing the campus—located in the Saint-Charles-de-Drummond sector—this project saw us carrying out all engineering work related to structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering disciplines.

Designed to accommodate expansion in future phases without compromising ongoing teaching activities, the four-floor building comprises four main sectors: student, staff, various services, and technical premises, among which a library—the heart of this new campus. The project’s first phase includes the development of a large parking lot, offering 400 parking spots and numerous traffic lanes to link up with the road system.
