Northern Gateway Pipeline Project
Enbridge looks to our experts because we understand the environmental and technical challenges of creating one of the largest, most high profile pipeline systems in North America. Our environmental specialists helped initiate the project in 2005 with our comprehensive environmental and socioeconomic assessment and regulatory hearing support services. We’re taking into account the variety of unique ecosystems, terrain and stakeholders to maximize benefits and minimize impacts.
In 2012, we began the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Class 3 capital cost estimate for the onshore terminal and the power supply for the pipeline. We are responsible for the design and engineering of 19 oil and condensate tanks, tank-to-tank hydrocarbon transfer systems, custody transfer metering, a remote impoundment reservoir, oil receiving facilities, an initiating condensate pump station, electrical substation and power distribution, terminal control, and communication systems. We’re also designing the interconnection transmission lines and step-down substations for the Kitimat and Bruderheim terminals, Clore-Hoult tunnels, and eight pump stations in Alberta and British Columbia.
