Kinder Morgan Integrity Dig Program

Safe operation of pipelines is of paramount importance in protecting the communities where we live, work, and play. Kinder Morgan knows this and invests millions in preventative programs to maintain above-average safety standards and public transparency. With a relationship built on trust and proven ability, we were sole-sourced to complete the environmental assessment and permitting for over 100 integrity digs along a segment of the Cochin pipeline system throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.

With exact dig locations provided by Kinder Morgan, our project managers, biologists, and wetland, regulatory, permitting, and soil specialists began a sensitive wetland and wildlife species desktop review followed by a site visit to further assess and detect any potential environmental risks. Then, on Kinder Morgan’s behalf, we submitted an environmental clearance report outlining review results and any necessary mitigation measures needed to obtain a permit from the location’s provincial government—often required on short notice. We tapped into our familiarity with government operations and longtime working relationships, allowing us to fast track requests.

With a permit in place, Kinder Morgan can undertake the integrity dig on the pipeline to verify anomalies. Then repairs are made if needed, giving them peace of mind knowing that the health of the environment is protected.
