Kami Iron Ore Scoping and Feasibility Level Studies
The Labrador Trough is home to world-class deposits of iron ore. The Kami Iron Ore Project is a proposed development of an iron ore mine in western Labrador with infrastructure at the Port of Sept-Iles, Quebec. Responding to the need for a one-stop shop for engineering and environmental services in the planning stages of the project, we conducted scoping level and feasibility level studies that would contribute to the project’s preliminary economic assessment and technical report.
Our work included project management and design services for tasks such as railway planning, port development, hydrogeology, pit slope design, tailings and waste rock management, site-wide geotechnical, hydrology, acid rock drainage and metal leaching assessment and rehabilitation, and closure planning.
Upon full development, the Kami Iron Ore Project has the potential to produce eight million tonnes per year of iron ore concentrate.
