Acknowledging history and committing to the future

Corner Brook is the largest urban centre in Newfoundland outside of the Avalon Peninsula and currently acts as the service hub for the growing Western Newfoundland region. In order to better serve the Corner Brook community, a new city hall was proposed.

Once the designs for the new city hall were approved, we were asked to help with the construction phase. We provided quality control and testing services throughout the initial build, starting with the placement of the structural backfill for the building pad all the way to the concrete properties for footings, walls, columns, and floor slabs.

The LEED Silver certified building incorporates the old courthouse into the design, while leaving room to add a museum too. The new city hall is both an acknowledgement and celebration of Corner Brook’s rich history, and a demonstration of the city’s commitment to the future.
