In his more than 40 years of experience in rail and transit, Michael has led a wide range of initiatives in policy, planning, marketing, design, construction, and operations. He’s developed and implemented many innovations that contributed to leading performance in the industry, and he’s a strong believer that to be successful, transit needs to be more than a public service. It needs to excel as a consumer product.
From his extensive experience implementing projects while maintaining existing operations—such as on the Bowmanville Rail Expansion—Michael has gained a deep understanding of the interrelationship between projects, planning, operations, customers, and the public.
Michael is a graduate of the University of Waterloo and Schulich School of Business and has been active with industry associations. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling with his wife, cycling, and kayaking.
