A water resources engineer in training, Ali is passionate about hydrology, water quality, and urban stormwater management. Growing up beside a lake and taking annual family trips to Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) in Minnesota inspired her passion for clean water.
Ali also enjoys problem solving and loves that aspect of her work. Her field and analytical experience encompasses stormwater projects where she works in sediment sampling, pollutant analysis, and accumulation calculations. A memorable project for Ali consisted of looking at the effectiveness of stormwater pollutant removal in an underground filtration study. Involved in all aspects of the study, she found it was rewarding to know that the study results informed future planning and use of these systems.
In her spare time, Ali enjoys swimming in the waters on the North Shore of Minnesota and hiking the landscape she loves for its waterfalls and cliffs. She also enjoys crafting custom cribbage boards in her family’s woodworking business.
