Jay believes in regenerative communities—places and buildings that restore our connection to the natural environment and each other. Throughout his studies and career, he has brought this mindset to projects as diverse as recreation centers, schools, luxury housing, firehalls, and offices. He has experience with sustainability certification systems, environmental analysis including daylighting and embodied carbon assessment, and systems thinking.
Recently, Jay has been working with a client to apply the Living Building Challenge rating system to their buildings and utilities. He has also been involved with an industrial plant pursuing LEED and Zero Carbon Building certifications as well as supporting embodied carbon reductions on projects across Western Canada.
When he isn’t seeking out sustainable strategies, Jay enjoys baking sourdough bread and hosting meaningful conversations over dinner. He is a member of the Regional Baha’i Council of British Columbia and plans Baha’i-sponsored community-building activities that are open to all.
