Stantec recognized by CDP as a leader in the fight against climate change

Stantec, a global architecture, engineering, and design firm, has been awarded an A-class rating within the world-recognized climate change index established by CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project). As the non-profit awarding body, CDP operates a global disclosure system enabling investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to manage and measure operational impacts on the environment.

For 2018, Stantec advanced to a technical classification of A-, placing the firm in the “Leadership” category for contributing to a sustainable future. Among the 7,000 reporting companies, Stantec is the only A-class-rated firm included in the Top 10 Design Firms listing posted by Engineering News-Record Magazine and among the top five percent of all CDP reporting companies.

The Most Recent Commitment
This distinction from CDP adds to other recent achievements in investor-driven sustainability scores. MSCI, a leading provider of research-based indexes and analytics for institutional investors, recently moved Stantec’s ranking from A to AA, the second-highest score on the scale. Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. (ISS), a leading provider of corporate governance and responsible investment solutions, granted Stantec the highest possible ranking in its Environmental and Social Quality Score. Both MSCI and ISS measure environmental, social, and governance performance, capturing the full range of ESG activities.
