Designing Canada’s largest solar farm

July 25, 2024

The climate crisis is driving the transition to renewable sources of energy. One of the most prominent forms of renewable energy? Solar power. Enter the Travers Solar Farm, Canada’s largest solar farm.

Designed by Stantec, the Travers Solar Farm consists of more than 1.3 million solar panels, enough to generate 465 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy and power more than 163,000 homes. The project will offset almost 625,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) each year and make significant strides in decarbonization. It will serve as an example of engineering services, innovative technology, and collaborative partnerships for years to come.

Stantec’s Anna Kozicky, who served as the project manager for the Travers Solar Farm, discusses the historic project and how it can play a pivotal role in the energy transition.
