Part of our planning team, Cristina is an economist with 38 years of consultancy experience. In her position, she advises local authorities and developers on policies and proposals for housing and economic development, based on socio-economic evidence.
In relation to housing, Cristina has focused on housing needs assessments and strategies for meeting those needs. Inspectors have supported her findings at many plan examinations and appeals, most recently in Plymouth and South West Devon and in North Essex (covering Braintree, Colchester and Tendring).
In the area of economic development, Cristina has directed over 60 employment land reviews and strategic studies and advised on many development proposals. Her work relates both to development of new employment space and redevelopment of unwanted employment sites for other uses. Cristina’s latest projects include strategies for aligning homes and jobs in Doncaster and Northumberland, a workspace strategy for the Tees Valley Combined Authority and planning appeals in Cambridge and Islington.
Cristina’s spare time is spent on long walks, long books, and enjoying her children’s company.
