Stantec celebrates 11th annual Stantec in the Community Week

Stantec celebrates its 11^th annual Stantec in the Community Week June 17–21. Over 5,900 employees from across the globe will be supporting more than 400 community organizations. During this week of volunteerism, Stantec employees are empowered to take some time away from work and trade it for a few hours of community contribution. Stantec in the Community Week reinforces Stantec’s Community Engagement program, which supports approximately 2,000 organizations throughout the year and provided $7.8 million of support in 2023.

It’s a great opportunity to do something different and connect with employees as we join together to support some of the most important causes and organizations in our communities,” said Gord Johnston, Stantec president and chief executive officer. “Community Week has become a key part of our culture at Stantec, and I know our talented teams look forward to rolling up their sleeves and making a tangible impact in our communities.”   

Building security and stability
To mark this annual day of giving, Stantec has announced a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada: Indigenous Housing Partnership and Habitat for Humanity Australia: Aboriginal Women and Children's Crisis Centre. This new partnership not only supports the bricks-and-mortar projects but also impacts the lives and futures of those in need. Stantec will provide donations, in-kind services, sponsorships, and participate in build days to lay the foundation for a brighter, stable future for families across Canada and Australia. During Stantec in the Community Week, employee volunteers will support six Habitat for Humanity build days, taking place in Australia and Canada.

Global volunteerism
Stantec in the Community Week 2024 volunteer events around the world also include:

• Ronald McDonald House across the US and Canada
• Dress for Success in Delft, Arnhem, Oosterhout, Eindhoven, and Sittard, Netherlands
• Nature Conservancy of Canada in Edmonton, Alberta, and Laval, Quebec
• Arts and crafts with Envision in Chicago, Illinois
• Various activities including painting, tree planting, and bio garden care for Centro de Madres Adolescentes Villa Vida in Lima, Peru
• Healing Transitions in Raleigh, North Carolina
• Native Forest Restoration in Hamilton, New Zealand

Making an impact
