Stantec named ‘Consulting Firm of the Year’ at 2023 NCE Awards
Stantec was recognised for its market success, as well as its focus on people and culture at the New Civil Engineer Awards

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering services, was crowned ‘Consulting Firm of the Year’ at the inaugural New Civil Engineer (NCE) Awards.
The awards evening was held on 20th September at The Grosvenor Hotel in London. The event recognised construction and engineering industry leaders delivering positive change to the sector.
Stantec is an interdisciplinary firm that helps communities grow and thrive by supporting the most iconic and transformative projects around the world. In the UK and Ireland, the company has increased its headcount to around 3,000 in the last 12 months. It has also invested in new office spaces in Belfast, Edinburgh, Cumbria, Leeds, Exeter, and Brighton—all designed to generate further growth, productivity, and well-being.
From working on landmark pumped storage energy schemes and delivering Nature-based Solutions for wastewater, to rethinking urban mobility, housing, and how the nation builds more sustainable infrastructure, Stantec’s reach extends across the built environment. The company aims to design with community in mind and was also highly commended in the ‘Environmental and Social Governance’ category.
The judges commended Stantec for its clear focus on its people-centred culture, as well as how it empowers staff through its dedicated business transformation programme. They noted that Stantec’s projects were built around innovation and exemplary performance. It was said that Stantec’s diverse leadership and genuine passion for staff well-being and development was another important factor.
