Stantec appointed to West Yorkshire Combined Authority DPS Framework

West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) has appointed Stantec to the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) framework to provide Highways Engineering, Commercial and Project Management Services.

The DPS Framework has been established so WYCA can call on the resource and expertise it needs to assist in delivering all aspects of municipal engineering including building structures, regeneration projects and improving transport infrastructure in and around West Yorkshire.  

Through the ten-year framework agreement, Stantec will deliver some of the region’s critical infrastructure projects, supporting regional growth and the levelling up agenda for the North. We support West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s vision to be a globally recognised economy where good growth delivers high levels of prosperity, jobs and quality of life for everyone.

Building back better is key to economic recovery in a post-Covid, post-Brexit world and we look forward to enhancing transport connectivity and infrastructure that will improve and regenerate local economies and communities across West Yorkshire.

Through the framework we hope to accelerate schemes in the region by utilizing our Funding Opportunities Toolkit to help identify specific funding platforms that will support building sustainable communities and transport infrastructure for the future. We have a real opportunity to address economic disparities and support the levelling up agenda and look forward to making this vision a reality.

Stantec’s team have been appointed to Lot 1 environment and ecology; Lot 5 planning support; Lot 6 project management; Lot 8 quantity survey and audit; Lot 9 surface water management; Lot 9 technical support; Lot 10 transport planning, modelling and economic assessment and Lot 12 urban traffic management control.

Through the framework they will provide a variety of project and programme management related services along with technical support including transport planning, environmental and ecology, planning support, quantity surveying, surface water management.

Stantec has a solid track history in driving forward transformative transport schemes. Through the framework they will support WYCA’s ambition of a regional transport network that connects businesses to customers and suppliers, that links people to education, training and fulfilling employment opportunities, that supports the building of much needed, affordable new homes and makes possible the regeneration and development of industrial land and that minimises emissions that are harmful to our environment.

To support them in their mission, Stantec have developed a geographic information system (GIS) enabled Funding Opportunities Toolkit to help identify accessible funding. The database is complemented by an interactive funding map which displays real-time data highlighting where funding has been secured by region. 

There are at least eight existing place-based spending programs relevant to the ”levelling-up” agenda. With geographic inequalities a focus for Government policy, the funding database helps identify specific funding opportunities that will reduce inequality across the UK.
