Stantec achieves milestone in UK rail growth strategy

Stantec has been appointed by Waterman Infrastructure and Environment to provide Consenting and Environment (C&E) support services to three Network Rail regions over the next five years.

Network Rail’s £400 million Design Services Framework (DSF) will run throughout Control Period 6 (CP6), the delivery plan for 2019-2024. Network Rail intends to use CP6 to refocus and put the needs of passengers and freight first.

As part of the Waterman team, Stantec will provide sub-consultant C&E services for rail projects across three of the four Network Rail regions (North West and Scotland, the North East, and South West) throughout CP6 with possible extension into CP7 (2024-2029).

The C&E scope encompasses a broad range of disciplines including environmental impact assessment, transport planning, town and country planning, flood risk management, biodiversity management, carbon reduction and archaeological surveys and analysis. Across its 1,700 UK employees, Stantec is able to deliver the full range of C&E disciplines.

The first C&E project team workshop has already been held to plan for the pipeline of projects, and discussions are ongoing with Network Rail framework leaders to enable rapid deployment as soon as the first commissions are awarded.
